DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION
For green roofs where the vegetation is struggling, there can be a number of potential causes. For this reason it is frequently advisable to begin with a Diagnostic Inspection to understand the ‘as-installed’ roof spec, its current condition and maintenance history, as well as other relevant info like its aspect (sun and rain shade for example are important considerations). The Diagnostic Inspection service includes
- a visit during which we’ll ascertain the likely cause or causes of poor growth or dieback (if the roof condition means we can undertake basic maintenance tasks within the hour on this visit then we’ll happily do so)
- if more substantial enabling works are required to get the roof to a point where standard maintenane is possible, we’ll provide you with a jargon free report that you can use to obtain third party costs, including from local non-specialists where appropriate
- costs for any enabling works we can do will be supplied separately
ESTIMATING & PLANNING
If the roof needs a substantial intervention including lifting and relaying green roof elements, we will do our utmost to reuse anything that can be from your current build up. Its not always possible, but we are committed to generating as little waste and new resource demand as possible.
POST INSTALL
We will always install to what we think is the optimal build up for your budget and the roofs load limit. To ensure your new roof thrives, we’ll send a handover pack explaining what we’ve done and introducing you to some of the nature to look out for. We’ll also send details of a robust but sensible maintenance plan in line with good green roof principles. We can undertake this for you, or explain what to do yourself is this is preferable.
